Designer by training, troubleshooter by trade.
I'm Rahmat Zumarli, based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. For two years I worked as a UI/UX designer on digital banking products — most of that time on a multi-brand design system used across BTN, Bank Mandiri, Bank Victoria, Bank Jatim, and CIMB Niaga, built with Atomic Design so one foundation could serve many brands.
These days I work in IT service operations as L1 application support. It sounds like a departure, but it rarely feels like one: I still spend my days reading systems, tracing where something broke, and thinking about the person on the other end of the screen. Designing transaction flows taught me how users behave; reading logs teaches me how the systems behind those flows behave. The two sides complete each other.
Outside of work I write — short, reflective notes about design systems and the craft, published on Medium as "Minds" and collected on this site. I still keep a hand in design: maintaining my own small design system, rebuilding this portfolio more often than I should admit, and lately exploring AI coding agents and what they change about how interfaces get built.
If you're working on a design system, a banking product, or an interesting support problem — I'd like to hear about it.
